Nay Y'Blang, a 47-year-old Dega man from Ea Lam commune, Song Hinh district, Phu Yen province, was summoned to the Song Hinh district police station on January 17th, 2025, regarding religious issues.
He is a Christian and a member of the Dega community church in the Central Highlands of Vietnam.
Nay Y'Blang had previously been sentenced to 4 years in prison by the Phu Yen province police for refusing to follow the State-sanctioned religion (Hội thánh Tin lành Việt Nam miền Nam).
During the meeting at the police station, he was forced to promise to leave his church and follow the State-sanctioned religion in front of a television. After complying with their demands, Nay Y'Blang was allowed to go home.
