Where things stand
Gia Lai province recorded enforcement measures against 119 Christians in the first half of 2026. Two criminal cases were opened, involving four defendants. A separate case in April 2026 involved more than two hundred participants across six groups, with four individuals recommended for prosecution.
The activity was framed by the authorities as action against FULRO and against “Dega Protestantism” — Tin Lành Đê Ga. The provincial police are headed by Major General Le Quang Nhan.

Why it matters
Individual cases can always be called individual. A hundred and nineteen in six months, in one province, is a programme — and the state described it as one, by naming the movement it believes it is suppressing. “Dega Protestantism” is not a charge about any single sermon. It treats the faith itself, as our people practise it, as the offence.
