Thailand sent Y Quynh Bdap back, and the UN said it should not have

Y Quynh Bdap was a recognised refugee. On 28 November 2025 Thailand handed him to Vietnam, where he had already been sentenced to ten years without being present. Within a week, eleven UN experts said the transfer had broken international law.
